Is there a way to lookup number of active players on xbox 360 games?

Q. I'd like to buy an older xbox 360 game (Call of Duty World at War) but want to know if there is still a community of live players for it. Usually you can find out within the game itself but is there a way to lookup without owning the game?

A. 1 people play that all the time people still play call of duty 2 online

2 if you go on the particular games website if you look hard enough it will usually tell you how many people are playing it online atm

What are some good 2 player video games?
Q. My boyfriend and I like to play video games together but we are having a really hard time finding ones that are 2 player AND interesting. Most of the 2 player games we have found are either childish or just not interesting.

The systems we have are Playstation 1 & 2, Xbox, and Nintendo 64. We will probably be purchasing an Xbox 360 sometime in the near future, so feel free to mention those, too.

It doesn't matter if they are cooperative or competitive, I just need suggestions please.

Thank you in advance.

A. My girlfriend and I have a strong preference to co-op games, so that's mostly what I will be listing here (we get to compete all the times in board games; video games offer a rare chance to cooperate!)

Here are some we've enjoyed (I've only listed the system I've played it on; many of these are on other systems as well).

Lots of first person shooters have co-op modes; we've enjoyed:
Perfect Dark (N64) - fully co op story mode, with tons of multiplayer modes, multiplayer challenge levels and a really cool competitive story mode if you want (one player plays normally, the other gets to control one bad guy at a time)

Halo (X-Box) - Good game with co op, but multiplayer isn't much good with only two since there are no bots.

Time Splitters 2 (X-Box) - Story mode is co-op, and there's a lot of variety in the game modes. Annoyingly, all the challenges are just 1 player though.

There are several RPG style games:

Baldur's Gate 2: Dark Alliance (X-Box) - decent adventure game.

X-Men Legends (X-Box) - Pretty fun, you can have up to 4 players. However, some of the levels only are 1 player, which is annoying.

Gauntlet Legends (X-Box) - Straightforward but it can still be fun.

For a variety of other games:

Devil Dice (PS) - A bit hard to find, but this puzzle game is WELL worth the trouble. You can play co-op or competitive.

Diddy Kong Racing (N64) - You can use the 'secret' code 'JOINTVENTURE' to play the story mode co-op; lots of fun with 2, though graphically a bit outdated.

The Adventures of Cookie and Cream (PS2) - Ok, it is pretty kiddish, but its also a lot of fun and a reasonable change. Sort of a platformer with a heavy puzzle slant - very much designed for 2 players.

Things I've had recommended, but haven't played enough to really comment on: Project Eden, Brute Force, Lego Star Wars (lots of people say this is really good), Champions of Norrath, Katamari 2, lots of various sports games and fighting games. There is a 2P Mario Kart racer on the gamecube, and a 2P Crash Bandicoot racer on the PS2, but I don't know the names of either.

And, if you like playing games together in general, you might want to check out boardgames; look for something like Lost Cities, Nexus Ops, Mr. Jack, Ticket to Ride or Hera and Zeus for an enjoyable 2 player game away from the TV.

Happy gaming!

What are some of the best online games for Xbox 360?
Q. My friend and I are looking for some of the best games to be played online with 2 players for the Xbox 360. We've only been playing NCAA '09 football. I'd appreciate any suggestions. Getting a chance to play is often limited so games not requiring extensive campaigns are a plus.

A. here are a few.
Halo 3
Gears of War 1 & 2
Call of Duty: World At War
Conflict Denied Ops
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfight 2

[some Great Non-Split Screen XBL Games]
Battlefield BadCompany
FightNight Round 3
Madden 09
