Do you have to play xbox 360 live games online?

Q. I am picking out games for my brother for Christmas and he has an Xbox 360. If a game is an Xbox 360 online game does it have to be played online or can it be played by one player without messing with the online crud?

A. It really depends on the game. Read the back of the game you want to determine if you must play it online.

I played Final Fantasy XI for a few years - there was no offline play. You had to be logged in at all times to play.

This is pretty unusual though. Most games allow you to play against the computer, or have a story mode that you can play which don't require that you be online to enjoy them.

Can you play bought xbox 360 games on a flashed xbox?

What is the difference from an xbox 360 arcade and an xbox 360 pro?

Q. What is the diffrence between the xbox 360 arcade console and the pro console. Is the core diffrent? can the arcade still play regular games or only arcade games. can you still attach a hard drive or not? Thanks
i already have a 120 gb hard drive

A. The arcade is a system without a Hard drive, it comes with a memory card instead. The core does not include either. Also the Arcade now comes with some arcade games downloaded onto the system.

The pro is a xbox 360 with wireless controller, 20GB HDD, & HD/AV Cables.

To play Original xbox games the Hard Drive is mandatory.

Q. Do memory units only hold game save data? Or are they able to hold purchased content as well? My family has two Xbox 360s, and I'd like to transfer a purchased Xbox Live Arcade game from one Xbox 360 to another, using a memory unit. Is this possible?

A. They can hold most things your hard drive can hold. It's just that they hold a lot less. The only problem is that just like with game saves, you have to transfer the profile along with the Arcade game in order to access it. For most Arcade games, you have to move the profile you bought the game under along with it or else it will revert to a trial and you won't be able to play the full game.

Why can't I download rated mature content on my Xbox?

Q. I changed the family settings on my xbox 360 live account to let me play mature rated titles but I still can't download them. Does anyone know why this is? I would think it wouldn't let me download the titles because my regestered age is 14. Still does anyone know why this is? Thanks

A. You've got it, your age on the Xbox Live account is causing the problem; no matter about the family settings, an account under 18 (or an account over 18, but not yet made into an adult account) can't download M-rated or beyond (RP is the only one likely to be found, since no game publisher wants to touch AO games usually) demos or some other content. And no, you can't change the age on an existing account: no option to do so, and changing the email won't do a thing since the age on the Xbox Live account is entered separately from the email. You can make a new account and lie about your age on that one though.

MY young son likes playing the XBOX 360 with me but he is to young to play most games,?
Q. We bought Spider-Man Friend or Foe and we had a blast because spider-man is his favorite and we could play together. This was a great game because everytime he died in the game if would put you right back in without taking you back to a check point. I just want to know if there are any other games out there that are just like this one.

A. Just check the rating on the box of the game before you buy it. E=Everyone, T=Teen, M=Mature, AO=Adults Only. Just play the game first then decide for yourself if it's suitable for him to play. At least your being responcible, compared to those that just buy a game to shut their kid up. Kudos to ya bro!

Best fantasy genre 2 player xbox 360 game?
Q. Hey, I am looking for a really fun fantasy-like game for the xbox 360. I wanted to get darksiders or final fantasy but they are all 1 player. It can be rated E, T, or M. CANNOT be AO, or RP. Thanks!

A. Well, your best bet would have to be Fable II
- Its a fantasy game
- has elements of or is a RPG game (Role Playing Game)
- is Rated M by the ESRB
Although, in order to play Co-Op you would need to have Xbox Live and an active profile with a Gold Membership. Also, 2 people cannot play on the same Xbox 360; only through online play.
P.S; If you already own Fable II, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (1P) would also be a good buy.

Can you play any xbox 360 game with the xbox 360 acade console?

Q. I bought a xbox 360 arcade console, and i was wondering if i could play any xbox 360 game like halo 3, guitar hero, and call of duty. thanks!

A. You should be able to. There are some games, like Splinter Cell: Double Agent that requires either a hard drive or a memory unit, and since the Arcade comes with the memory unit, you shouldn't have any problem.

I want to get Fallout 3 at Gamestop, but don't have money. Will these games have enough trade-in value?

Q. I want to get the $80 Fallout 3 Collector's Edition for Xbox 360 at Gamestop, but don't have any actual money, so I need to trade games in.

Games I am willing to trade:
Gears of War 1 - Xbox 360
Mass Effect - Xbox 360
8 DS Games

All in perfect condition.
Is that enough trade in value to get the game?

How do you get free Xbox 360 games?

Q. I'm really getting bored of playing the same games over and over again on my Xbox 360 and do not have enough money to buy another game. Does anybody know how to pirate or copy games for free without modifying your Xbox 360, getting caught, and having the eligibility of playing online?

A. 1.buy crappy rubbish pile ds games for under 5$ each (my local game store has tonnes)
2.trade them in at different game store

4.buy FIFA 07

A. You need to open it up and flash ixtreme firmware to the DVD drive. There are many tutorials online.

A. well they sell used games depending in what condition for 30-60% of normal price. Whioch means thy'll pay you maybe 20% of what you payed for it. so about 15 or 20 dollars

Can you get banned for playing an XBOX 360 game before the release date?

Q. Also, what about if I get a game early, then unplug my live and earn achievements, then on the release date plug it back in? Can Microsoft track achievements earned offline? My friend says you can, but I say no, because maybe you didnt know the game was out early and figured that it had been out for a while.

A. If it's a legit copy of a game that some retailer broke street date on, they do not ban anybody for playing before release.

If it's a pirated copy, you're taking a chance on getting a console ban for it. They may or may not be able to tell exactly when you got the achievements, but they can tell that you earned a few days worth of achievements on the day of release, and that can have them take a closer look at your console and profile.

When will Velvet Assassins release a sequel for Xbox 360?
Q. I would like to know about the release for Velvet Assassin's 2 for Xbox 360. Will the game be release this year or is the game been previously released & if the game is out when was the release date.

A. There is no Velvet Assassin 2, nor any plans to make one.

When is the most likely time that Sony and Microsoft will release new Xbox and Playtstation models?
Q. Just curious if anyone had information about release dates for these game systems. I was also wondering what is better, Xbox 360 or PS3 and is it wort it for me to get one of these now or just wait for a new model to come out?

A. It is not known yet when a new console will be released.

Some people have even said that there is no reason to release new consoles because both are as advanced as they can be.

A. Lost Odyssey and Blue dragon are pretty good.

A. Oblivion Elder Scrolls IV. I'm telling you man, this is the funnest game ever. You can do anything. I didn't play WoW, but this game looks very similar. Sooo fun, trust me man.

A. It depends on what you like really. I have to say Orange Box for the most overall value. Gears of War and Halo 3 are pretty good. Also, both Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 have great online multiplayer. Mass Effect is a good RPG. Rock Band is good if you like to have real friends over, and DDR can be good for that too. Grand Theft Auto IV is great fun to just mess around in. For a family geared time, check out Viva Pinata (the original) or Lego Star Wars/Lego Indiana Jones.

A. im sure there are people who can Hack the game code and make it possible, but XBOX games are written in a similar yet different code then PC games and can't be read by them without first hacking it

Q. Is there any way to transfer your Xbox 360 game from PC to xbox 360 console without using dvd.

I have some xbox 360 games stored on my pc. I do not have dubble layer dvd writter. I want to transfer then directly to my xbox 360 HDD.

A. Quite frankly, it's not possible. Nobody has figured out how to do it yet. Unless your XBOX 360 is modded, you wouldn't even be able to burn them and play them on your 360, even if you have a DVD writer.

Is there a way to play my xbox 360 games on my dell laptop?
Q. recently my xbox 360 has had an issue to where it wont play, so after hours of attempting to find tutorials on how to do it, im at a loss, i have modern warfare 2 and a wired controller. and considering that xbox and microsoft are the same manufacturer is there a way to play xbox 360 games on my pc?

A. I REALLY doubt it. Just cuz they are the same manufacturer does not mean they play the same things. For instance,Nintendo 64 games will not play on the Gamecube or wii or any other game.

For instance the big chain in the US is Gamestop who has a buy-2-get-1 free sale every 3 or 4 months. It's possible to pick up 3 games for just over $10 apiece using this sale. Even if you buy newer games at higher prices, you're still getting quite a discount.

A. My guess is that those offers will end once Black Friday rolls around. After that insane day, the best deals will be online and/or after Christmas. If you're not hard-pressed to get a slim, try asking stores like Sears to see if they have older models on clearance. Stores that sell more non-gaming stuff tend to slash prices on gaming gear. If you have to go with a retail store, also consider Target, GameStop, or Play N' Trade. They tend to have random deals so you have to keep an eye out.

Xbox 360 Guitar Hero Aerosmith: The guitar won't turn on?
Q. I just bought Guitar Hero Aerosmith for my Xbox 360, popped the batteries in and when holding down the xbox button on the guitar, no lights show up. what are the reasons that makes Xbox 360 shooter games really good to play?

Q. I'm doing an essay on why I like playing xbox 360 games.

A. Because it satisfies primal urges human males have, like being better at something then the other males in a social group. As well as human males need to aim something and hit something with it, and our need to use tools. It's all genetic. Guys have been pwning other guys at stuff for the last 100,000 years, only now we don't get the benefits we would have had back then like getting laid, of course back then the stuff guys did was more survival aids. A. you need to get your xbox modded for this to work, and it will completely void your warranty. I wouldn't bother. There are tons of used 360 games out there for reasonable prices. GTA IV is wicked, Halo is supposed to be good if you like shooters. burnout paradise is the best burnout game and you can get that for like $20 brand new, less used. If you want sports games, get ones that are from last year. They are always way way cheaper, like $10 used.

How to use xbox 360 controller with Flight simulator X for PC?

Q. Hey. I have a controller that came with my xbox 360 and I want to use it with FLight Simulator X for pc. Is there a way to do this?? It is NOT the PC version of the controller. But my dell laptop did recognize it and install it. but I dont know how to not use the mouse with flight simulator x. thanks.

A. I have had the same problem with games on my PC and it won't let you use the 360 controller because the game does not support it. Usually if you can use a system paddle with a PC game it will be indicated in the instruction manual.

What xbox game should I get for my older brother?

A. Blazing angels 2, Blazing angels: Squadrons of WWII, Tom Clancyâs H.A.W.X are the only ones i know that are quite good. In case you decide not to give him a flight simulation, get him something like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. It's full of action, and there's some flight too! Awesome game.

the charging lead will not work, all it does is charge the battery it does not transmit control function to the console
It is possible to use your wireless controller on a PC, you need to have a wireless connection port for it normally via a USB "dongle" and you need to download the drivers for it.

Why are some xbox 360 games 60 dollars and others are less?

Q. Well, my question is pretty straightforward. Some xbox 360 games are 60 dollars, such as halo 3 or gears of war, and others are 50 dollars, like call of duty 3. Why is there a price difference?

A. Usually it's because of how long they've been out. After games have been released for a while, sales go down. To increase sales for the game, they lower the price. Some games from the launch of the 360 are down to $20. Also, some games are arcade games that are usually between $5-20.

If a xbox 360 game is $50 on the release date, most likely it's just a decision by the publisher.

A. to answer your question... no.

HOWEVER. You can download xbox 360 games and burn them to a verbatim dvd+-R DL disc, and play it just fine!

With the new update (Fall Update)... you can install games to your hard-drive and they load faster, but you must still have the disc in the drive. So not yet can you play COMPLETELY from your hard-drive!

To the 1st poster.... perhaps you should KNOW something before you go spitting off at the (mouth) fingers!

The best way to download games... private tracker sites. I won't name any, but just do a little bit of research... and you will definitely find your answers! I was a n00b once. Just do your research, you will learn faster that way!

oh and like seth said... you can play on xbox-live, but it takes you making sure your games are patched correctly! a program called mXuXlXlXeXtXeXrX will get the trick done (minus the X's). That will let you know the region, if it's patched and up to date, pretty much everything! minus burn it!

A. allright, many people dont buy used 360's cuz of red ring of death, but throw in some games and accesories for attraction. you may post your ad on ebay, craigslist, or trade it to game stop (but they will only give you a portion of how much you bought it for) or just show it in garage sales, thats how i got my 360 and the guy gave me games and controllers which is an attraction to most people...there are other sites but there are many scams, so trust these sites......good like!!!

The new Xbox 360 redesign is slimmer, quieter, sleeker, has built in Wireless N, and has a 250GB hard drive. It is not a new console, and is not any spectacular leap for Xbox. This is simply a better Xbox 360. First off, the console looks great. It is much smaller than the current model, and has a really nice black glossy finish (although fingerprints show up a lot easier). The buttons are now touch sensitive rather than physical buttons. It is also, as said by Microsoft, "whisper quiet". Unlike the current model, this one doesn't sound like a jet engine when running, and allows it to be practically unnoticed, a big plus when watching movies. It also has built in Wireless N Wifi, which adds a significant value to this console, as the current adapters Microsoft sells are in the $70-$100 range. They also added a 250GB internal hard drive, which is removable, but NOT compatible with current 360's. If you are looking to upgrade, you are going to have to transfer all of your stuff from the old Xbox to the new one using USB drives (this 360 does not have memory unit slots, just USB). The console is also Kinect ready, and includes a specific port for Kinect when it launches this November. This port supplies the Kinect camera with power and the connection to the Xbox, whereas otherwise you would have to plug in Kinect to the wall for power AND the Xbox for the connection.

Bottom line, if you don't have a 360 and want to make the jump, this is the time to do it. If you have a 20GB 360 or a console that's giving you problems (overheating etc.), I would say you should look at upgrading. If you have a fairly newer 360 model, I think you should just hold off.

A. You might find better deals during the close-out sell, but generally circuit city has higher prices than ANY of their competitors (like radioshack, best buy, walmart, etc).

A. I totally recommend Amazon. Sell every item separately and the sales will fly so fast. I've sold all my XBOX games and accessories there. I recently sold the Wireless Network Adapter for XBOX 360 for approx. $70 and it sold within hours.

How do I make a burnable copy of an Xbox 360 Disc?

Q. I need to know how to pull the info from the xbox 360 game disc. Everytime I try I just get audio and video files. I want to make an .ISO of the disc or something simalar so i can make copies I rented games. An yes my xbox is modded already.

A. If you want to make copies of original 360 games. You'll need a special DVD drive for that.

Try searching for Kreon drive.

Also you'll need a program called "IMGBurn" this will help you create the ISO file that you need.

A. Hey man, I know what your going through. Unfortunately I could never really find a good site to help me simply back up (legally) my xbox360 games. Will PS4 give a whopping blow to the next XBox? I mean will the XBox 720 largely fail?

Q. Okay, here is the data I have collected on the differences between PS4 and XBox 720 (or whatever):

Online Gaming
XBox 720 - XBox Live Online gaming seems to continue charging (or penalizing?) its customers to play online.
PS4 - PSN seems to continue its trend of allowing free online play and will charge only if you want to enjoy cloud storage, free games and many other free features.

MULTIPLATFORM GAMES
XBox 360 was enjoying the premium graphics quality with multi-platforms. But this advantage might not NOT be there, for Sony has made a move for a more friendly configuration with its next gaming console. So, XBox Next has nothing special to offer in multi-platform games as well.

SINGLE USE GAMES
This is a crap concept XBox 720 might be introducing. Single use games will not only ruin the second-hand gaming industry for XBox games, they might also reduce the number of pre-orders... since, you won't be able to sell a game if you don't like it. And "if necessity turns out to be the mother of invention again :)", poor microsoft will have to combat a stronger force from hackers/modders. PS4 on the other hand, seems more desirable saying that reusing the game will be possible.

INSTALLATION MUST GAMING
It looks like microsoft might be making installation of games mandatory to play. What the crap. Are they sane. They must realize that one of the major advantages that they gave in XBox 360 was on initial price investment, since it didn't include an then-expensive blue-ray drive as PS3. Now, since both will have blue-ray drives, Microsoft want to be generous by giving the price advantage to Sony for the next generation, by planning to add a 1TB hard drive on XBox 720 for game installs. Sony will can release a 16GB PS4 console some years down the line, whereas for Microsoft... well forget it.

And INTERNET CONNECTION MUST!!! Wow! Great Daring!
Microsoft probably wants to reach only those that have an internet connection. Good thinking. But I think a less prudent one.

End of all I feel that Microsoft is becoming more and more greedy, trying to squeeze its users till the last drop. May be it is a more profitable approach when no competitor is around.

So, I have said a lot. What do you guys say about it. Will the next generation majorly be for PC and PS3 gaming? I know too early to predict, But if these are the conditions, at least you can say which gaming console will you like to buy.

A. Xbox 360. I personally think that yes Microsoft is becoming exceedingly greedy. I have also played on playstation before and have found that the 360 (usually) excells in graphics and performance. What Games should I get for the PS3 and for the Xbox 360 I am Confused?

Q. Which Games to get I already have games for the PS3 such as MW2, MW, COD5 and other such games I need help to find what games to buy I am into FPS and Action and Adventures games. I am getting An Xbox 360 in August and I am wondering One what to call Myself on the Xbox 360 and what game to get with the Xbox 360. Best Answer will get 10 points.

A. I Agree w/ C4RL, Bad Company 2 is epic, definitely buy that, and buy Halo: ODST. It comes with a multiplayer disk that is basically Halo 3 and all the maps for it. Left 4 Dead is another good game, I don't know about Left 4 Dead 2, I played the demo and it sucked. But yeah, those are 3 kick ass games.

How do I get the Xbox 360 controller to play games on my computer?

Q. I've got an Xbox 360 controller for use with my computer and installed the software that came with it on a disc.

However, when I play games like Team Fortress 2 and Grand Theft Auto: SA, they do not work very well (only a few actions mapped) or not at all. How can I change this and get the games to work with the controller?

A. I would recommend using the keyboard and mouse controls, they are much better for first person shooters.

Can you use an Microsoft Xbox 360 controller to play Grand theft auto 4?
Q. I was just wondering if you could play grand theft auto 4 with the microsoft xbox 360 controller.

A. On an Xbox 360...of course you can. If you are talking about the PC version then you can but you need to install a driver to make the controller usable first, then you can configure it in the game, and I think it has to be a wired controller.
