What are some good tips on saving money?

Q. I'm only 13 and I'm planning on either buying one of these:
Xbox 360 Arcade $199.99
Playstation 3(40 GB) $349.99
Gamer HAF 91B $909.00
But the problem is that I have no money at the time! How can i manage to keep budget when im saving?

A. Saving money is a pretty simple exercise of economics and math.

To ensure you save (spend less then you make) you need to figure out what your doing with your money now, and then create a budget you can be happy with. Stair step your use of funds on different items slowly so you don't feel deprived and tighten the budget slowly overtime. Here are a few more tips to make your budget more.

Try using cheaper substitutes for things you buy now. If you buy a candy bar at school everyday for 1.50, go to wal-mart and buy a whole bag and bring one with you every day. If you go to buy a $3 soda after school every day, get a small ice chest for your car and buy canned soda for less the a dollar to bring with you instead.

Try to find free things to replace costly activities. Instead of renting a DVD every Saturday, try to look through all movies that are showing on cable that week and use a DVR to record the ones that look good.
If you go to a skating rink, buy some skates and go to a park with a couple of friends. get your books from a library, or if your library doesn't stock things you like trade/loan books with a friend. Join a school club that will get you discounted entry into places you pay to go or has events showing the stuff you'd be paying to rent yourself.

A few proven principles:
Buy in bulk. You can split the cost and the product with a friend, or if you use something frequently you can use it, and cost less in the long run. (Make sure it's cheaper to buy the big one! If your just storing stuff forever because you never needed that much it's not saving you money.)

Borrow equipment. If you go through projects quickly or need one time use of something don't go buy it, even if it's small. Even if it's just a silver sharpie for a poster, it adds up.

Look after your pennies and your dollars will take care of themselves. If you know something should cost 1.50, don't purchase it for 1.65 just because it's handy. it will be alot easier to follow your budget if your not letting your actions nickle and dime you to death.

Good luck.

How much could I get for my PS2 Bulk?
Q. i need some extra cash for my xbox 360 slim, and i have an old PlayStation 2. Its one of the big thick ones, not the slim. i was hoping i could get quite a bit for it since its one of the big ones, (the ones they dont make anymore) if i included the console, all the wires, a controller, and a couple games, how much do you think i could get for it?

P.S., Everything is in working condition, there is no signs of cosmetic damage.

A. I wouldn't sell a great system if its only worth 30 dollars. I sold my ps2 also to buy a 360 and i regret it because i miss playing Socom 3 , and GTA san andreas.

DONT SELL in my opinion
